WHAT IS ROOTING AND ITS ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES

ROOTING:

Rooting is the process of allowing users of smartphones, tablets and other devices running the Android mobile operating system to attain privileged control (known as "root access") within Android's sub-system.

ADVANTAGES OF ROOTING:

  1. INSTALL INCOMPATIBLE APPS:

There are over million apps in the Google Play Store, and many of them are restricted to certain device types, brands, and Android systems.
If you're using one of the new, high-end devices like one plus one or note 4,pretty much all apps will be available to you, but if you're using an older device or tablet, chances are you've seen the "This app is incompatible with your device" message more than a few times.

A lot of times you can get around these restrictions by installing an .apk of the app directly, but since Google doesn't let you download the installation file from the Play Store, you usually have to resort to sketchy sites with lots of ads and potentially malicious data.

You can easily do it by using this guide.Click here to open guide.
  2. Overclocking and Underclocking CPU:Do you crave performance even though it will sap your battery? What about preserving your battery life over all else? With a rooted device you don’t have to choose, because you can either overclock or underclock your CPU accordingly.

Many apps are available in play store which can make your over or underclocking easier.Out of which
No-frills CPU Control is somewhat good and easier.
  3. AD Blocker:

Most of the great Android apps are free. But they do come with a price – ads. There are all kinds of them. Banner ads that never go away, flash ads that take up the whole screen, and popups at the least expected time, leading you to open them mistakenly. Then there are sensible ads that only show up in the pause or settings menu.

If it’s not you, ads are what pay developers’ bills. It’s what helps them make awesome software (and what helps us bring you this website).

Last year, Google completely removed ad blocking apps from the Play Store. After all, they can’t sell ads and ad blocking apps on the same platform.

Making your droid away from ads is one of the advantage of rooting.

  4. Better Backup's:

Let’s start off with one of the major benefits of having a rooted device: Better backups. With a rooted device, chances are high that you might want to tweak your system, install a custom ROM or install apps that need root access. Since you’re playing around with your system files, it’s always good to have backups of your apps, user data or your whole system. And, besides, it never hurts to keep backups, in case you delete important files by accident.
The most popular app to make backups is Titanium Backup. Although the Pro version costs $6.58, it’s well worth the money. It allows you to make complete backups of all your apps and system data. Restoring them after, for example, a factory reset brings back all your apps and system settings so that you don’t have to bother with installing all of your apps and setting up your device again.
Another great benefit is being able to make a backup of your whole system, called ‘Nandroid’ backup.
Restoring a Nandroid backup is like restoring your Windows computer to exact state of the last performed system backup. So, if you Android device isn’t working properly anymore or if it’s soft-bricked and doesn’t boot up anymore, restoring a Nandroid backup brings you back to the same state of the moment you created the backup. It’s a great safety net when you decide to flash a custom ROM or Kernel, for example. If anything goes wrong, just use your Nandroid backup to fix your device.

  5. Android updates:

Certain Android phones get updates much later than others, which is frustrating. However you can manually download and flash the latest version of Android if you have a rooted device – even if your device manufacturer hasn’t released it yet.

You can find many guides to update most of the devices here.

  6. Better theming:

Customization is a great advantage of Android over iOS: You can change the look and feel of your device using custom ROMs, Android launchers and/or widgets.

Unleash your theming with rooting. You can theme more effectively with root. You can entirely theme your droid.

    DISADVANTAGES OF ROOTING

So by now you know that rooting is a very good process according to developers but at some stages your device can have sever side effects after rooting. Rooting has enormous benefits Where installing third party root access apps is the main moto for rooting android devices now a days.

    1. Some say that the device lags after rooting it.This is because of over theming or other reasons.
    2. Battery performance will be less in some roms because they are overclocked and you can fix this by underclocking it.
    3. Due to lack of knowledge some people brick their devices.
    4. You will loose your device warranty if you root your device.

    CONCLUSION

    1. Rooting is very effective way of handling your device.
    2. In my opinion rooting is must for any android device if you have a good knowledge on it.
